Shared Hosting Supplemental Terms
1. Purpose and Scope
These Shared Hosting Supplemental Terms apply to shared web hosting, reseller hosting where applicable, control-panel hosting, and related services that use shared infrastructure.
These Terms supplement all general Spark Rack policies.
2. Shared Environment
Shared Hosting places multiple Customers on common hardware, software, network, storage, database, mail, and control-panel systems.
Customer must use resources fairly and must not interfere with other Customers or platform stability.
3. Included Resources
Included storage, bandwidth, databases, mailboxes, domains, processes, memory, CPU, inodes, backups, and features are determined by the purchased plan.
Labels such as “unlimited” or “unmetered,” if used, remain subject to fair use, technical limits, abuse prevention, and reasonable platform operation.
4. Resource Limits
Spark Rack may enforce limits through quotas, rate limits, process limits, connection limits, mail limits, database limits, file-count limits, execution timeouts, and other technical controls.
Customer must upgrade, optimize, reduce usage, or move to another Service when use is unsuitable for shared hosting.
5. Customer Applications
Customer is responsible for websites, code, themes, plugins, databases, content, accounts, permissions, licenses, updates, and application security.
Shared Hosting support does not include custom development or repair of unsupported applications unless separately purchased.
6. Supported Software
Spark Rack may designate supported PHP versions, database engines, mail protocols, frameworks, and control-panel functions.
Spark Rack may remove or disable obsolete, vulnerable, incompatible, or abusive software.
7. Security
Customer must use strong credentials, multifactor authentication where available, supported software, least privilege, secure permissions, and timely updates.
Spark Rack may suspend a compromised site or Account to protect the platform.
8. Email
Email use is subject to the Email, Anti-Spam, and Messaging Policy.
Shared Hosting is not intended for high-volume mailing unless expressly approved.
9. Backups
Backups are governed by the Data Backup and Restoration Policy and are best effort.
Customer must maintain independent copies outside the shared platform.
10. Performance
Performance varies with plan limits, application efficiency, traffic, database behavior, third-party dependencies, maintenance, and shared demand.
Spark Rack does not guarantee a particular page-load time or application throughput.
11. Prohibited Workloads
Spark Rack may prohibit persistent daemons, cryptocurrency mining, public proxies, high-volume crawlers, resource-intensive computation, unauthorized streaming, large file distribution, abusive automation, or workloads unsuitable for shared infrastructure.
12. Changes and Migrations
Spark Rack may move an Account between servers, storage systems, IP addresses, networks, or data centers to maintain security, capacity, and reliability.
Customer may need to update DNS, allowlists, certificates, or integrations.
13. Suspension
Spark Rack may suspend a site, process, mailbox, database, or Account that creates security, legal, reputation, or resource risk.
Targeted restriction is preferred where practical but is not guaranteed.
14. Cancellation and Data Removal
Customer must export files, databases, email, DNS, and other data before cancellation.
Spark Rack has no obligation to retain Shared Hosting data after termination.
15. Acknowledgment
- Shared Hosting uses shared resources and is subject to enforceable limits.
- Customer is responsible for Customer applications, content, credentials, and updates.
- Spark Rack may require optimization, upgrade, migration, or suspension.
- Backups are best effort and independent Customer backups are mandatory.
- Shared Hosting is not appropriate for every workload.
